The Way Back “Storytellers” Summer Poetry Contest 2023
The Way Back to Ourselves is excited to announce our FIRST poetry contest!
THIS YEAR’S THEME: “STORYTELLERS”
SUBMISSIONS OPEN MAY 1, 2023, and they CLOSE JUNE 15, 2023. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN JULY!
You may submit up to three unpublished poems to our email: thewayback2ourselves@gmail.com.
Please include this in the subject line: POETRY CONTEST 2023.
Please also include a third person author biography that is under 100 words, along with a high-quality author photo in the event you are selected. Please also note if your poems are simultaneous submissions and if you are interested in them being considered for the FALL COLLECTION 2023: RESTORATION.
Please also share anything else about you and how these poems came to be, since this year’s theme is all about telling stories. Your ability to write beautiful poetry and weave a story around them will be considered in the selection process. More clearly, the storytelling in your poems and THE STORIES behind them will be what drives us in the selection process! This can go in all kinds of directions, so be creative and let the process flow from you!
There is also a small $10.00 fee, which will be used to help pay the winner in a cash prize. One poet may have multiple submissions, but they must send in separate entries and fees each time. As you know, here at The Way Back to Ourselves, we have always been committed to keeping submissions free. Contests are just a little different! But we hope you see value in this opportunity.
Poems should be thematically related to this year’s theme. They can be directly or indirectly Christian-themed. The sacred is everywhere: in nature, in everyday life, in our suffering, in our joy!
