Autumn Snow and Other Poems

Deanna Mims

AUTUMN SNOW

Autumn leaves falling,

Turning in the Autumn breeze,

Like rain, falling from the Autumn trees,

It’s raining leaves, raining leaves,

Before the Autumn Snow.

Under foot, and under tree,

Piles upon piles of Autumn leaves,

Left over, from October,

Blanket the ground…

And the November trees,

Now bare, prepare

For Winter.

IN THE GARDEN AT NIGHT

I lay under a tree,

And gaze up at the stars,

Gaze up through the branches,

At what lies a far.

Through shadows and string lights,

Adorning the trees,

I watch glittering ornaments,

Sway in the breeze.

A thousand refractions,

Reflecting the light,

Serve as backdrop to dreamscape

In the garden at night.

DEANNA MIMS

Christian poet Deanna Mims wrote poetry as a young girl and recently picked up her pen again during her time spent in the wilderness. Writing poetry and praying helped her to survive spiritual warfare, tell her story, and share her message that God is real and to keep going. Her personal story is a tale of survival, strength, courage, and faith. Through poetry, she shares inspiration and encouragement, writing about nature and God's amazing and beautiful Creation. Writing poetry is her way of creating "Beauty from Ashes."
