The Fragrance of God

THE FRAGRANCE OF GOD

My mother has been making floral arrangements for her church every week for over twenty years now. As a child, I would join her as she went to the flower shop and picked up the flowers for that Sunday’s arrangement. I believe flowers are God’s fragrant and visual gift to the Earth, a remnant of Eden that has been preserved by his grace. These echinacea reminded me of my mother’s act of worship by taking simple, fragrant, beautiful flowers, arranging them with others, and then “gifting” them back to God.
