In Of Wings and Dirt, Kimberly Phinney intimately and unflinchingly reveals the story of her near-death experiences and survival with the hopes of comforting her readers and pointing them toward the divine—be it in ordinary moments, the natural world, or the nearness of a loving God. Reviews

"Of Wings and Dirt is honest and pure. Kimberly Phinney has gone to the edge of this life and come back to remind us of unending beauty and boundless grace. Line by line, page by page, Phinney draws us from our worries and fears, lifting our chin to the promise of restoration. This book gives us something to hold onto and remember when we need something to hold onto and remember. What a gift this collection of poetry is."

--Tanner Olson, author of Continue: Poems and Prayers of Hope

"There is something so special about the poetry of Kimberly Phinney and Of Wings and Dirt. Her poems are like quiet psalms of gratitude and prayer, redolent with all the ways we heal, grieve, and grow in a world that sometimes feels too angry and loud. Her poems are a crackling campfire in the long dark of night, whispering, 'Come here, dear friend. Be safe now. Come here, rest, and listen for a while.'"

--Nicholas Trandahl, author of Mountain Song: Poems

"Of Wings and Dirt is a poetry lover's dream book. Kimberly Phinney offers deep words that will make you catch your breath as well as exhale. The care and intention Phinney has taken to pen hard and tender words to paper is evident, as is the hope offered to her beloved reader. Accept this warm embrace of belonging. The masterfully crafted words you read here will likely mirror your soul and you will know, like I did, that you are seen and held."

--Jodi H. Grubbs, author of Live Slowly: A Gentle Invitation to Exhale
